Created by The Spiral Tree, Focused Relaxation programmes and seminars are designed specifically for teaching effective stress reduction techniques to professionals within the corporate environment.
Focused Relaxation programmes create an awareness of individual stress levels and reactions, whilst providing the necessary tools to reduce and transform such reactions into positive stress responses.

According to a Health & Safety Executive report (2005/06), work-related stress is currently responsible for 10.5 million reported sick days per year in the UK, with 1 in 6 of all working individuals claiming their job to very or extremely stressful.
There is no single cause of work-related stress which can manifest in one or several of the following symptoms:

Focused Relaxation Programmes and Seminars are usually conducted on-site at times that best fit with the organisation’s schedule. Group size is kept to a maximum of 14 participants, so that each individual can receive the personal attention and instruction needed.
Prior to commencing a programme or seminar, participants are given a confidential questionnaire which not only provides the facilitator with vital information on the stress levels and symptoms of each person, but also more importantly for the participant, it serves to highlight the areas of his/her life that need most attention. The questionnaire highlights a wide range of physical, emotional and mental symptoms directly linked to stress, bringing about immediate stress awareness for each individual.
Worksheets, exercises and a detailed manual are provided describing the techniques and theory covered and participants are encouraged to implement the exercises on a daily basis and develop a regular practice.
To conclude each programme or seminar, a confidential review sheet is completed with vital feedback on the changes in awareness and improvements each individual might have noticed.

5 Week Focused Relaxation Programme
The Focused Relaxation Programme consists of 5 weekly 60 minute onsite classes and provides a wide range of techniques that can be used both at work and at home.
Participants are guided through techniques that help them to feel calm, focused and in control of situations that would normally trigger stress reactions:

Focused Relaxation techniques are not based on the teachings of any group or philosophy and are therefore accessible to a wide range of people. Once mastered, the techniques are easy to practise.

1:1 Focused Relaxation Coaching
The Spiral Tree recognises that each person is unique, with individual learning styles. While many prefer the support of a group environment, many individuals respond to a more focused form of training.
1:1 Coaching is specifically designed for individuals who are looking for a more personalised relaxation practice as a means to reducing levels of stress, increasing a sense of well-being, or developing a greater sense of focus and clarity in their lives.
1:1 Coaching provides a carefully tailored training programme which identifies and addresses the individual needs of the client, whilst working towards specific goals and aims.
A typical programme involves 5 weekly 60 minute sessions with a follow-up session one month following completion. Sessions are arranged to fit in with the individual’s working schedule and can be held either on-site or at The Spiral Tree.
